Coffee quality control

Coffee quality control is divided into 2 parts, field level and processing level. In the field, orchard management including coffee diseases is considered major reason for quality deterioration. So campaign for managing pre-mature drying of cherry, prevention of Coffee Leaf Rust (CLR) and prevention of white stem borer are conducted in the coffee producer groups. At the processing level, to improve the quality of coffee, the pulping centers are monitored/inspected regularly at the village level and hand sorting training is provided at the central processing unit for defining coffee defect after hulling process. BeaCoN supports on not only for training but also distribution of material for making and using eco-friendly pesticides like bordeaux mixture.
