Earthquake Recovery

The earthquake magnitude 7.8 hit Nepal in 2015. Sindhupalchok district is one of the most seriously damaged area. 5,103 people died or injured and 95% of private houses, 100% of schools were collapsed in Sindhupalchok. Among the member of coffee cooperative, 195 people died or injured and 5,890 kg coffee was lost under the damaged houses. Beautiful Coffee Nepal(BeaCoN) has supported construction/distribution/psychological program for coffee farmers who have partnership with BeaCon since 2014. The earthquake recovery programs implemented in Sindhupalchok by BeaCoN together with BeautifulCoffee Korea are as follows:
